Thoracic pain may be referred from chest and abdominal organs. Metabolic, visceral, infectious and cancerous diagnoses should be ruled out. When the source of symptoms is musculoskeletal, movement of the affected structure elicits pain. Thoracic pain is usually coming from muscle sprains. Latissimus dorsi and pectoralis major refer pain often to upper extremities and sometimes to the low back. Other commonly affected muscles are the serratus anterior, iliocostalis and the rhomboids. Disc lesions are more common in the lower thoracic. We have a variety of effective acupuncture, herbal and manual therapies.
